The Austrian mezzosoprano Anna-Katharina Tonauer took her first singing lessons with Matthias Drievko at the music school in Innsbruck. In 2015, she completed her studies with distinction in the class of Univ.-Prof. Gabriele Fontana and Univ.-Prof. Karlheinz Hanser at the University of Music and Performances Vienna. Tonauer attended master courses with Brigitte Fassbänder, Helmut Deutsch and Leopold Spitzer. In 2014, she won the first prize at Musica Juventutis and performed therefore at the Wiener Konzerthaus. Anna-Katharina Tonauer is the winner of the third International Otto Edelmann Singing Competition. Conducted by Guido Mancusi, the mezzosoprano played the role of “Cherubino” (Le nozze di Figaro) and the role of “Dorabella” (Cosi fan tutte) at the isaOperaVienna 2013/14. In 2016/17 Anna-Katharina Tonauer is part of the Ensemble of the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, where she can be heard as “Lucy” (Dreigroschenoper) and “Dorabella” (Così fan tutte).
