The Zurich Ensemble, consisting of four award-winning Swiss soloists, present two of their own spectacular transcriptions: Rimsky-Korsakov’s much-loved “Scheherazade” and “Five Oriental Melodies” by Bortkievicz. Their version of “Scheherazade” follows the old tradition of making orchestral music available for live performances in private homes and smaller venues as chamber music reductions.
